PetSmart Associates Help Local Classroom Affected by Dallas Tornadoes

On Sunday night, October 21st, ten tornadoes touched down in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

One of those tornadoes ripped through Walnut Hill Elementary while Chico, a beloved classroom turtle, was still inside. Local police were able to save Chico, but his terrarium and food supply were destroyed in the storm.

Associates at the North Tollway PetSmart location in Dallas heard about Chico and the damaged school, and immediately wanted to help.

The associates gave Chico a new home, including a terrarium and a starter kit full of items for his new habitat, for the new classroom. They also gave each student in Chico’s classroom a plush toy from PetSmart’s Chance and Friends collection on their first day at their new elementary school.
