Matt Byrnes

Matt Byrnes joined PetSmart in 2007 and has more than 15 years of manufacturing and retail experience. Most recently, he has taken on the position of Senior Vice President, Merchandise Planning & Allocation and Global Sourcing. In this role, Matt leads our strategic approach for forecasting, merchandise planning and global supplier management including sourcing, product quality & social compliance.

He has a deep operational understanding of the PetSmart business and has held various leadership roles during his tenure with the company including time in Store Operations, Supply Chain, Merchandising and growing our Proprietary Brands business. He also spent several years in Asia supporting PetSmart’s global sourcing efforts.

Matt graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor of Arts in Decision Sciences, and later returned to earn an MBA from the university as well. Matt is an executive committee board member for Valley of the Sun United Way. He and his wife have a son and are pet parents to Tegan, a 13-year-old Australian shepherd.
